The first State of Origin clash that saw NSW triumph over Queensland was the most-watched television event of the year so far, drawing 3.8 million people, almost a million of whom watched on streaming platforms.
The Blues won the last best-of-three Origin tournament, and on Wednesday defeated the Maroons 18-6 at Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium.
