News Corp sells Foxtel to British sports streaming giant in $3.4b deal

News Corp and Telstra have agreed to sell Foxtel to British sports streaming platform DAZN in a deal that values the pay television broadcaster at $3.4 billion and will reshape the local media industry.

DAZN’s interest in Foxtel was first reported by The Australian Financial Review in November. Two months earlier, News Corp put its stake in the business up for sale following “third-party interest” in the broadcaster.
