Nine Entertainment chief executive Matt Stanton says he wants to reset and grow the country’s largest publishing and broadcast business after being appointed to the top job six months after his predecessor quit in the midst of a cultural scandal that engulfed the company’s newsrooms.
Stanton, 55, was confirmed on Thursday morning after acting in the role since last September. An international search was conducted drawing in a high-calibre field of candidates, Nine’s board said in a statement. “Matt was clearly the best-credentialled leader to maintain the momentum on our strategic and cultural transformation,” Nine chair Catherine West said.
