Crikey claims win after Lachlan Murdoch withdraws defamation case

Lachlan Murdoch has withdrawn his defamation case against Crikey publisher Private Media, just days after Fox News paid $1.2 billion to settle a US lawsuit brought by voting machine maker Dominion.

Mr Murdoch’s lawyer, John Churchill, confirmed he had filed a notice of discontinuance in Federal Court proceedings in Sydney on Friday, ending the claim the Fox Corp executive chairman brought against Crikey for publishing an article linking him to the January 6 US Capitol riots.
