Former political staffer Bruce Lehrmann has been given the green light to sue Network Ten, News Corp, former Ten host Lisa Wilkinson and journalist Samantha Maiden for defamation over stories detailing Brittany Higgins’ allegations of rape.
In a Sydney Federal Court on Friday afternoon, Justice Michael Lee ruled that Mr Lehrmann could proceed with a defamation case even though he did not bring it within the 12-month legal time limit.
