New ABC managing director Hugh Marks will use social media to find young listeners, readers and viewers, saying he was not afraid to make tough decisions that would ultimately benefit the national broadcaster.
Mr Marks said he was confident he would have a good working relationship with ABC chairman Kim Williams as he laid out his ambition to invest in areas that are less appealing to commercial news organisations.
