A drama starring Miranda Otto and Guy Pearce that was inspired by the homegrown cult of The Family headlines nine new Australian-made shows from Disney that will feature on its Disney+ streaming platform this year and next.

The shows – which include three drama series, four documentaries and two lifestyle and entertainment series – were announced as the government grapples with how to best regulate the sector, proposing in February a two-tier system to encourage streamers to invest in Australian content.
