Southern Cross Austereo is negotiating to sell a string of regional television licenses to Australian Digital Holdings TV, the conservative online broadcaster that late last year secured a tie-up to bring influential American right-wing cable news network Newsmax to Australia.

The ASX-listed Southern Cross owns the Triple M and Hit radio brands and a regional radio network, and has been working to offload its television broadcast assets over the last year. In December, it sold three country licences to Paramount Global’s Network Ten for up to $20 million.
