Oceania Glass collapse brought on by failing machinery: administrator

Creditors of the collapsed Oceania Glass manufacturing business have been told the 169-year-old company called in administrators because its private equity owner declined to fund a $21 million plant upgrade.

Oceania was the country’s only manufacturer of architectural glass – it supplied the large panes for Parliament House in Canberra – and was acquired by Crescent Capital from CSR in 2019.
