Worley profits surge but pipeline softens as energy projects cancelled

Worley chief executive Chris Ashton has warned that the global engineering group’s customers are being “very pragmatic” on how they reduce carbon emissions and putting some sustainability projects on hold and scaling back others.

“There’s not a sense of panic, there’s no backing away from their commitment to net zero; it’s just a question of being very pragmatic on how they are going to get there,” Mr Ashton said as he revealed a seven-fold rise in profits over the last year.
