A robot dog could be used to inspect how clean the trains are on the new Western Sydney Airport metro line and to check rail tracks for faults, as the French operator brings high-tech to the project including artificial intelligence.

RATP Dev, the international arm of French urban transport group RATP, is keen to bring “Perceval” – a robot dog that roams Paris’ metro lines – to Australia.
