ACCC warning on DP World’s $174m takeover sends Silk shares diving

The competition regulator says it is concerned that DP World Australia’s plans to acquire warehousing and port services group Silk Logistics could lead to higher prices for goods and reduce the number of rival operators.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission said it would conduct a review of the $174 million deal announced in November, amid concerns DP World could use the acquisition of the ASX-listed business to discriminate against other companies transporting containers.
