Sydneysiders ordinarily flock to Bondi Beach in the week before Christmas but this year they are queuing for COVID-19 tests rather than heading into the surf for a swim.

About 8000 swabs a day are being taken in Sydney at clinics run by St Vincent’s Hospital’s SydPath, which includes the Bondi site.
