The problem with our kids that should be on the productivity agenda

Jim Chalmers is considering long-term policy measures to buoy the economy. They must include addressing startlingly low financial literacy levels.

If Treasurer Jim Chalmers is serious about tackling the nation’s flagging productivity, he must leave no stone unturned. That includes boosting terribly low financial literacy levels in Australia, especially among school-aged students.

It’s a long-term investment that makes a lot of sense and at the very least financial literacy should be on the agenda at the vaunted productivity roundtable in August.
