The image of a blue Lamborghini and black Ferrari, parked next to each other, screams sharemarket success.

It’s a sunny day in late October outside a Gold Coast coffee shop and the blue 2017 Aventador S, selling for more than $720,000, flashes the licence plate “ASX Bull”. Next to it is the black 2017 Ferrari 488 GTB, which can fetch $470,000 and boasts a top speed of 330 kilometres an hour. Its plate blares “ASX Wolf”.
