RBA's Malcolm Edey tips credit cards will go the way of cheques

Outgoing Reserve Bank assistant governor Malcolm Edeyhas predicted that credit cards could eventually go the way of cheques as mobile payment systems become the new normal.
Mr Edey made the comments in a speech to the AFR Retail Summit in Melbourne on Wednesday, which marked his final public remarks before he is due to retire in October after a 40-year career at Australia's central bank.
