WA government green lights Woodside’s North West Shelf extension

The West Australian government has given Woodside the green light to extend the life of its North West Shelf gas processing facility until 2070, after years of environmental objections and appeals against the project.
The approval will extend the life of the Karratha Gas Plant on the Burrup Peninsula, and also paves the way for the future $30 billion Browse joint venture between Woodside, BP and Mitsui.
