Vic business fears high-risk energy transition

The managing director of ASX-listed Brickworks, which operates the largest brick-making plant in the southern hemisphere in outer Melbourne, says the company has been expanding in the United States as a risk mitigation strategy because politicians have their ''heads in the sand'' on energy policy.

Lindsay Partridge said electricity prices in the US were about half of those in Victoria and gas prices were even cheaper, at about 25 per cent of the price paid locally.
