Santos reveals 20pc cost blowout at Alaska oil project

Santos has flagged a cost overrun of about 20 per cent at its oil project under construction in Alaska, confirming analyst fears of a blowout in the investment budget.
The climb in the expected cost for the Pikka oil project represents an increase of $US520 million ($780 million) based on the $US2.6 billion budget announced when the board sanctioned the investment in August 2022.
