Petrol station owner Viva Energy smashed as 2025 outlook disappoints

Viva Energy, the petrol and diesel supplier that owns the Shell service station network, disappointed investors with its soft profit outlook as its growing convenience store business struggles with downtrodden demand.

Shares in the Melbourne-based company slumped as much as 24 per cent on Tuesday after it posted a 20.1 per cent drop in full-year benchmark profit and chief executive Scott Wyatt said retail trading in convenience remained “challenging”.
