Environmental Defenders’ Office funding ‘goes against Asian allies’

The allocation of almost $10 million in the budget for organisations that have launched legal challenges against multi-billion-dollar gas projects by Woodside Energy and Santos has riled the industry and looks set to worry valuable trading allies Japan and Korea.

Some $9.8 million is to be provided over four years to the Environmental Defenders’ Office and Environmental Justice Australia.
