Dyeing business: manufacturer impacted by high power prices prepares to close
A Victorian-based fabric dyeing business – which counts the Australian Ballet as a customer – is winding up due to high electricity and gas prices compounding already difficult business conditions following pandemic lockdowns.
Shayne Wren, the manager of Bulace Dyeing, said high utility prices have put too much pressure on the factory, which dyes lace, fabric and trims for Australian industry and for export.
