Retiring Business Council president Grant King said the Morrison government's $2.5 billion Climate Solutions Fund could be rejigged to deliver more carbon abatement that would enable Australia to exceed Paris climate targets.

While critics have derided the Climate Solutions Fund, formerly known as the Emissions Reduction Fund, as an inefficient way of reducing the nation's carbon emissions, Mr King said his panel – appointed by the Morrison government – could only work with the policies in place.
