BHP and the shipping industry rediscover the power of wind
Centuries after colonial powers sailed the seven seas on nothing but wind, big corporates like BHP are pushing a wind renaissance through the shipping industry.
When the MV Copenhagen ferry makes its 10 Baltic Sea crossings between Germany and Denmark on Monday, the commuters on board probably will not realise they are part of the great wind renaissance.
On the deck of their 169-metre ferry will be a giant pole standing 30 metres tall, five metres in diameter and spinning at about 160km/h.
