Echo appoints ex-Salmat executive as CFO
Echo Entertainment Group chief executive Matt Bekier has cleared his to-do list of recruitment tasks, ending a period of upheaval in the casino operator’s senior ranks by appointing former Salmat executive Chad Barton as chief financial officer.
The company had been searching for a new CFO since February after Mr Bekier was promoted to the role of CEO to replace outgoing boss American John Redmond. Mr Redmond’s abrupt resignation came a little over a year after he was brought in to replace Larry Mullin , who was ousted by the board following a period of poor performance and a sexual harassment scandal at the company’s flagship Sydney casino The Star.
