2013 a tough year for small caps
The past 12 months have been a miserable affair for many small caps, with the index now trading at its lowest point since April 2009.

For many small caps, the past 12 months have been a fairly miserable affair.
On Friday, the Australian Small Ordinaries Index – 200 companies which account for 7 per cent of the local sharemarket – closed the 2013 financial year 6.6 per cent below where it started 12 months earlier.
