Asked this week for his outlook on the post-COVID global economic recovery, Brookfield Asset Management chief executive Bruce Flatt wasn’t going to be pushed into declaring whether it will be V-shaped, U-shaped, or any other shape.

“Everybody looks for one thing or the other,” Flatt said. “It’s much more nuanced than that.”
