Telstra points to telco policy mess
NBN Co's move into selling fibre to business customers has drawn attention to the messy and confusing policy settings in the telecommunications sector. Telstra chairman John Mullen added his voice to the criticism on Tuesday.
The confusing state of telecommunications policy governance was made clear on Tuesday when Telstra chairman John Mullen added his weight to the corporate, regulatory and political attacks on the monopoly wholesale broadband network, NBN Co.
At a time when NBN is trying to make enough money to justify the government’s $51 billion capital investment, it is being hit from all sides for undercutting the business models of the private sector.
