Venture capital investing isn’t for the faint of heart. But politics is something else entirely – as Paul Bassat might be about to find out.

On Tuesday, the co-founder of Seek and venture capital firm Square Peg will emerge as the founder and chairman of a new organisation called Amplify, which will attempt to capture the views of the Australian community on big societal challenges, and then debate and propose nuanced solutions to the country’s politicians.
