NSW wants to screw down toll prices to win votes. Roads Minister John Graham is talking up the chances of once-in-a-generation toll road reform.

Toll road operator Transurban has 11 long-term contracts to keep doing what it is doing – basically raising tolls 4 per cent a year, or in line with inflation, whichever is higher, for years to come. Yet Transurban CEO Michelle Jablko is locked in confidential talks with the government about changes that may (or may not) lower those roads’ prices.
