Tim Sims, co-founder of pioneering private equity firm Pacific Equity Partners, says it took a while for Australia’s big institutional investors to warm to the asset class. But Australia’s wealthiest families are a different story.

About four years after opening up its strategies to private wealth, PEP now manages $2 billion on behalf of these clients, taking its total funds under management to $12 billion.
