David Gonski’s decision to rejoin Sydney Airport’s board as independent chairman is part of a broader move by former ASX-listed companies to ensure there is a voice for other stakeholders under private ownership.
Gonski’s appointment comes five months after he retired from the board of the publicly listed company following a $23.6 billion takeover by a consortium comprising Global Infrastructure Partners, IFM Investors, Australian Retirement Trust, AustralianSuper and UniSuper.
