Five reasons why BoQ’s CEO search will struggle

The new chief executive of Bank of Queensland will walk into tough economic conditions and huge technology challenges.

Bank of Queensland executive chairman Patrick Allaway is wise to give himself at least nine months to search for a new chief executive to replace George Frazis given the list of challenges facing the regional bank.

There are at least five areas of concern that will weigh on the minds of people approached by Allaway to take on the top job at BoQ: capital; technology; culture; people; and industry structure.
