Chalmers’ historic super reforms

Thirty years after compulsory superannuation became law, Treasurer Jim Chalmers is proposing sweeping reforms that could significantly change the assets underpinning the $3.4 trillion sector.
Chalmers wants to find ways to harness super’s growing asset base in the interests of the nation, including investing in the energy transition and building the stock of affordable housing.
