Business won’t miss Pallas, but there’s no easy fix for Victoria
With two years before the next state election, it seems likely that Treasurer Tim Pallas’ departure will mean a shift in messaging rather than a shift in fiscal strategy.
A couple of months ago, the chief executive of one of Australia’s largest property companies sat down with Victorian Treasurer Tim Pallas and delivered a blunt message.
“Let’s have no illusions,” the CEO said. “There is a buyer’s strike on Victoria.”
