A four-year-old criminal cartel case against Citi, Deutsche Bank and four bankers has been abandoned by the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions in a stunning blow against its instigator ACCC chairman Rod Sims.

As Chanticleer has argued over the past four years, Sims was guilty of grand regulatory overreach by taking the competition regulator’s powers into an area it did not understand – equity capital markets.
