Richard Goyder might not be surrendering the helm of Perth conglomerate Wesfarmers until November, but as AFL chairman, and with his Woodside Energy chairmanship beginning in August and his spot on the Qantas board effective from October, you'd imagine he's got plenty else on his mind.
Thus his chosen successor, Wesfarmers industrials boss Rob Scott, is well into his charm offensive of pollies, institutional investors and the odd business journo. Not that Scott isn't a busy fellow already, as chairman of Rowing Australia, one of the sporting federations supporting John Coates' re-election as president of the Australian Olympic Committee. We'll try not to infer too much there on Scott's attitude towards organisational culture!
