Oscar Patterson, 20, remembered after dying in hospital on Tuesday
A 20-year-old motorcyclist, who died on the same day as another young rider, has been remembered as an “older brother” – as locals call for better safety along the road he crashed on.

Tributes have flowed for a young motorcyclist killed, with locals raising concerns about the condition of the road he crashed on.
Thebarton man Oscar Patterson, 20, died on Tuesday after crashing his motorbike on Main North Rd on Saturday night.
Witness Michael Szabo said he hard a “large noise” when Mr Patterson crashed after hitting a pothole on Main North Rd.
“It was a horrific scene to see a young person in such a bad way coming off their motorbike,” he told 9News.
“I think he tried to get on the phone and actually have a conversation with a loved one.”
CCTV footage shows Mr Patterson, who reportedly called his girlfriend after the crash, coming off his motorbike before a crowd of witnesses gathered to offer assistance.
Mr Patterson was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with serious injuries after the crash, with tributes flowing after his death on Tuesday.
“I’ve lost what I would call my older brother,” Mathyus Ewing wrote on social media.
“To get the call saying you had passed … I was in denial and thought it was a joke.
“Rest easy.’
Muhammed Alhelou, who also witnessed the crash, said he wished “there was something
I could have done to prevent it”.
Mr Szabo said the crash could have been prevented and that “something needs to be done” about the condition of Main North Rd.
“It’s time for people to start listening to us,” he said.
“Let’s help young South Australians.
“We don’t want to lose anymore lives here.
“Please come and help us.”
On Monday, a 24-year-old Mount Barker man died in hospital overnight after a shocking crash near Mt Lofty Summit at Cleland.
Police said his car left the road and plunged about 20m down an embankment on Mount Lofty Summit Rd about 3.30pm Monday.
Just hours before that tragedy, a 72-year-old Berri man died after a crash in the Riverland.
The 20-year-old’s death brings the SA road toll to 87 compared to 55 at the same time last year, and is also the 17th motorbike fatality in 2023.
