A young man has died after crashing his motorcycle at Henley Beach on Tuesday night.

Police and emergency services were called to Seaview Road at about 6pm, after reports of a collision between a Toyota station wagon and a Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

The motorcyclist, a 25-year-old Seaton man, then hit a parked car and a tree.

He died at the scene despite the efforts of paramedics.

A small bundle of flowers was left along Seaview Rd in memory of the young man.

Debris from the crash, including wheel and side mirror casings were also left at the scene.

Local resident Ian Bagshaw, 64, said his daughter heard a “bang” from their home, when the collision occurred.

Mr Bagshaw did not suggest that the fatal crash victim was speeding or drove in a manner that caused the crash.

However, he believed the council needed to install speed bumps along the road so people were forced to slow down.

“It’s a dangerous problem here, because most nights there’s a drag race out here.

“I only came out here two weeks ago and there was smoke all the way down this street at 11.30 at night.”

The driver of the station wagon, a 24-year-old Mitchell Park woman, was not injured in the crash.

Road closures were in place for several hours, while Major Crash officers examined the scene.

Any witnesses are asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or online at www.crimestopperssa.com.au.

The 25-year-old is the 86th life lost on our state’s roads, compared with 55 at the same time last year.

Earlier this week a 24-year-old Mount Barker man died in hospital after a shocking crash near Mt Lofty Summit at Cleland.

Police said his car left the road and plunged about 20m down an embankment on Mount Lofty Summit Rd about 3.30pm Monday.

The Summit Cafe and Function Centre business manager Andrew Norris described the road as “terrifyingly dangerous”.

Just hours before that tragedy, a 72-year-old Berri man died after a crash in the Riverland.

About 12.20pm, police received reports a car had crashed into a tree on Worman St at Berri.
