A woman has been flown to hospital after a serious crash near the Barossa Valley.

A 61-year-old woman was flown to hospital after she ploughed into a tree in Williamstown on Wednesday.

Emergency services received reports that a car had crashed on Williamstown Rd just before midday and a rescue helicopter rushed to the scene.

The driver, a local woman, was the only occupant of the car.

She was flown to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with serious but non life-threatening injuries.

The car has been towed from the scene.

It follows two serious crashes – one of which was fatal – on Tuesday.

A truck driver was charged after a crash at Para Hills.

Emergency services were called to the crash scene at the intersection of Kesters and Bridge roads just after 11am on Tuesday after reports a car and truck had collided.

A 72-year-old station wagon driver was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital in a critical condition.

Earlier that morning the driver of a light truck died after colliding with a ute near Mount Gambier.

Police and emergency services were called to the collision on Glenelg River Rd near Mount Schank just before 7am on Tuesday.

A 45-year-old man from the South-East died at the scene. The driver of the HiLux ute, a 64-year-old man from Mount Gambier, was taken to Mount Gambier hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
