A woman who tested positive to meth has been arrested after leading police on a pursuit in the southern suburbs which allegedly saw her crash into a patrol car.
A black Nissan sedan was seen driving south along Woolridge Rd at Morphett Vale displaying fake plates.
The car entered the car park of a hotel on Main South Rd before crashing in to the front of a patrol car as it drove off at speed.
Patrols pursued the car as it continued along Wheatsheaf Rd, on to States Rd, Bains Rd and O’Sullivan Beach Rd.
As the car tried to turn left from O’Sullivan Beach Rd into Gold Lands Links Rd, the driver crashed into a concrete sleeper retaining wall.
The driver, a Mt Gambier woman, 24, was arrested and charged with a host of traffic offences, and the woman tested positive to meth.
She was refused bail to appear in Christies Beach Magistrates Court today.
Yesterday, a stolen Mercedes-Benz was dumped and torched in the northern suburbs.
Emergency services were called to Cardigan St in Angle Park just after 1am and the black sedan was found in flames.
Fire crews extinguished the blaze, but the car sustained extensive damage.
The vehicle was reported stolen a few hours earlier from a home in Findon, where the suspects had broken into the property, also taking the victim’s handbag.
It is the latest in a spate of luxury car thefts in Adelaide.
It follows another pursuit in the western suburbs which led to an arrest at Cowandilla.
Around 10.30pm, patrols spotted a stolen white Toyota Hilux ute travelling along Marion Rd towards Netley.
The car was followed and successfully spiked, but turned onto Henley Beach Rd and continued driving through backstreets near Underdale.
The 38-year-old driver stopped at Kings Reserve in Torrensville where he attempted to flee on foot.
The man was quickly apprehended and charged with illegal use, dangerous driving to escape police and driving disqualified.
He did not apply for bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court later today.
Police determined the ute was stolen from an Ascot Park business sometime between July 15 and July 19.
