Tesla driver almost four times over legal alcohol limit crashes into Stobie pole on Glynburn Rd at Burnside

A man has been reported after he crashed his Tesla into a Stobie pole and allegedly returned a blood-alcohol reading almost four times the limit.

A drink driver almost four times the legal limit has crashed his Tesla EV into a Stobie pole at Burnside.

Emergency services were called to a roundabout at the intersection of Glynburn Rd and Waterfall Tce about 10.30pm on Thursday after a Tesla crashed into a Stobie pole.

The driver was submitted to a breath test and police say it returned a positive reading of 0.188 – almost four times the limit.

The man, 39, of Campbeltown, has been reported for drink driving and driving without due care. He lost his licence on the spot for 12 months and will be summoned to appear in court at a later date.

The car had to be towed from the scene.
