A 46-year-old man has been arrested after a police officer sustained injuries in an RBT stop incident at Seaton on Anzac Day.

The driver, from Woodville West, was arrested at a Modbury Heights property at 6pm on Wednesday, following an investigation into the incident.

The police officer was injured after a silver Holden Captiva entered an RBT stop on Elaine Ave at Seaton as the driver allegedly tried to flee the scene about 5.15pm on Tuesday.

The male driver reportedly stopped for short time, before driving off.

Police said an officer reached through the window to try and stop the vehicle from leaving, but the driver closed the window, trapping the officer’s arm.

As the car moved off, the officer was allegedly swung from the car.

The officer was treated at the scene and later taken to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries including a broken leg.

About 1.20pm Thursday, police located the car involved in the incident on Sportsmans Dr at West Lakes after reports from a member of the public.

Police towed the car to be forensically examined.

The 46-year-old man was charged with endangering life, causing harm by dangerous driving, failing to answer questions and other traffic offences.

He did not apply for bail and will appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on Thursday.
