Woman charged after allegedly hitting police officer while being detained at Athelstone house fire
A woman will face court charged with assault and arson after a police officer was injured attending a house fire in Adelaide’s north eastern suburbs on Sunday.

A woman has been charged with arson and assaulting police after an officer attending a home engulfed in flames was injured.
Police and emergency services rushed to Burton Rd, Athelstone after reports of a house fire at 1pm on Sunday.
Fire crews arrived to find the single-storey house engulfed in smoke and flames, and two occupants of the home already evacuated.
A female occupant being detained by police at the scene allegedly assaulted an office.
Fire cause investigators attended the scene and following an investigation, the occupant, a 21-year-old woman, was arrested and charged with arson, aggravated assault, causing harm to an emergency service worker and resisting police.
She was refused bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday.
It took 28 firefighters to extinguish the fire within 30 minutes, stopping it from spreading to neighbouring properties.
Fire investigators and Eastern District CIB attended the scene on Sunday afternoon, as investigations into the fire and alleged assault continue.
