David Barlow, 73-year-old Kersbrook man, killed in single-vehicle crash
The man who died behind the wheel of his station wagon in the Adelaide Hills has been identified – as locals share how they rushed to try to save him.

Locals have recalled the moment they rushed to the aid of a Kersbrook man after he lost control of his station wagon and crashed on Tuesday night.
Kersbrook residents rushed to help local David Barlow, 73, after his car went over the retaining wall of a local house just before 9.30pm on Tuesday.
Darren Wake, a CFS volunteer, was one of the first on scene and told 7NEWS how he attempted to resuscitate Mr Barlow.
“I realised he wasn’t in a good way and so we pulled him out of the car and did CPR and sent my wife and son down to get the defib from the local pub,” Mr Wake said.
“We worked on him until the ambos arrived.”
Mr Wake said his CFS experience allowed him to administer aid, but said “you hope you don’t have to do it”.
Justin Friedrichs, another witness to the incident said the community rallying together showed the “community spirit” of the town.
Emergency services were called to Osborn Rd, Kersbrook, at the intersection of James Crescent, after reports a Mitsubishi station wagon had crashed into a fence, about 9.20pm.
Mr Barlow, the sole occupant, died at the scene.
Police said his car veered off the road and crashed into the fence.
Major Crash investigators attended the scene.
His death is the 39th life lost on our state’s roads this year, compared with 58 at the same time last year.

Car slams into rock wall at Paracombe
A busy Adelaide Hills road has reopened after a car hit a rock wall on Tuesday morning – the second serious crash along that road in a week.
Emergency services were called to Gorge Rd, Paracombe, at 7am after reports of a single-vehicle crash.
The driver was rushed to hospital with serious injuries.
Gorge Rd has since reopened between Corkscrew Rd and Torrens Hill Rd.
Major Crash Investigators also attended the scene.
It comes after another car rolled over an embankment at Paracombe on Tuesday, June 4.
The driver – a 60-year-old man from Paradise – and sole occupant of a silver Honda sedan had gone down an embankment on Gorge Rd near Corkscrew Rd.
He was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with serious head injuries.
Major Crash investigators also attended the scene.
