The duo charged with the murder of prominent South Australian pediatrician Michael Yung have been identified as a young Adelaide couple with a small child.
Kerem Aydin, 22, and Jacinta Davila, 27, were arrested at a Torrensville house on Tuesday night.
The couple have been charged with one count each of murder, serious criminal trespass and committing theft using force. They appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Wednesday, where new details were heard.
Here is all we know about the couple so far.
Accused murderer Kerem Aydin
Kerem Aydin, 22, who according to Facebook is of Turkish background, is currently a student at TAFE SA and has worked various jobs.
Mr Aydin’s posts include anti-Semitic material that breached Facebook standards and tasteless memes.
“I’ve worked in glasshouses, picking vegetables and managing the exports of goods,” he said on LinkedIn.
Mr Aydin’s LinkedIn profile goes on to explain he has also worked in a family sweet shop where he picked up team management and leadership skills along the way.
“Some other jobs I have acquired along the way include: installing security cameras, retail (both selling clothing and food), working at service places such as mechanic shops and repair shops … and I’ve also worked at Cash Converters, so I’m really good at selling products,” he wrote.
Mr Aydin posts regularly to Facebook about his love for Turkey and the trips he has taken over the years, most recently having visited in 2017.
“I come back to Australia in one month, kind of sad to be leaving Turkey so soon but I have many things to do back in Australia. Anyway, it’s been a blast so far,” he said.
The young man, who refers to himself as ‘The Turk’ on Facebook, has since shared his love for his relationship with Ms Davila and their young daughter.
“Happy Mother’s Day to my beautiful fiance, the mother of my daughter and the love of my life,” he posted this year on Mother’s Day.
“I can’t wait till our little princess is old enough to start celebrating this day of yours with us. “I can’t wait till she can makes you a card and chooses a present to gift you with.
“Teodora and I love you with all our hearts, too the moon and back infinite times. You are the best mum, the greatest mum, the most amazing mum.”
Kerem Aydin’s SA country childhood
Former classmates have revealed further details of the childhood of Kerem Aydin accused of the shocking murder of well-known SA pediatrician Dr Michael Yung.
Kerem Aydin, 22, and his co-accused Jacinta Davila, 27, were arrested at a Torrensville house on Tuesday night.
The couple were charged with one count each of murder, serious criminal trespass and committing theft using force, with SA Police and prosecutors to allege Dr Yung’s house was chosen at random.
Details now have emerged of Mr Aydin’s time as a child living in Tailem Bend and Murray Bridge.
He played football at the local club and participated in karate lessons in the local town hall.
Aydin attended the Tailem Bend Primary School before going to the Islamic College of South Australia as a secondary student.
A childhood friend said she had fond memories of the kid she “hung out with quite a bit” and was in shock to learn of the arrest.
“He wasn’t a bad kid, was a little gentleman with me,” she said.
“Footy he loved … karate was a big one, he did that from a young age.”
Accused murderer Jacinta Davila
Jacinta Davila, 27, has worked in various jobs, more recently being employed as a casual worker at retail store Veronika Maine.
According to LinkedIn, Ms Davila has also worked at Windsor Smith Footwear, yd. Australia and Ally Fashion.
She also lists that she has a certificate III in hair and beauty.
“I am an honest and hardworking individual looking to further my career in the retail industry,” her profile reads.
“I pride myself on having a confident, friendly and driven personality. I have the ability to work in both a team environment and independently.
“I maintain a professional attitude at all times and have exceptional customer service skills.
“I have great time management skills and am always punctual.”
Ms Davila has not shied away from sharing her thoughts on social media with an account on X, formerly known as Twitter, being home to many controversial posts.
“You don’t like me? Add yourself to the list bitch! #jealousyisacurse,” one post reads.
“Oh my I feel so special that your tweet was about me! Like I give two f**ks about what you think of me #gochokeonad**k ciao x,” another says.
More recently, Ms Davila gave birth to her young daughter and got engaged to Mr Aydin.
The accused couple’s relationship
According to Facebook the couple, who refer to each other as King and Queen, met in July 2022 before later having a baby and getting engaged.
The young couple do not shy away from sharing their relationship on Facebook and announced their pregnancy to Facebook friends on September 5, 2022.
“Can finally share our secret … expecting mini me 2023,” Ms Davila wrote.
Father-to-be Mr Aydin commented on the post saying he was looking forward to the adventures ahead.
“Can’t wait to tackle the adventures of pregnancy with you baby, I know that no matter what, you’re an amazing woman and you’re gonna be the most amazing mummy and I couldn’t imagine my life any other way, congratulations mummy, there’s no body else fit enough to be the mother of my child,” he wrote.
A few weeks later the couple announced the gender of their child, saying “Kerem and I are proud to announce we are expecting our little princess T Aydin due in March 2023”.
On March 18 the couple publicly announced the birth of baby T on Facebook with the caption: “The Princess is here”.
Just over a month later Ms Davila also announced her engagement to her then-boyfriend of a year.
“It’s official (engagement ring emoji). Future Mrs Aydin,” she wrote.
The post gathered several comments from friends and family congratulating the young couple.
“Congratulations love birds … you two have come so far and after all the bulls**t u two came out stronger than ever. So proud of you both not to mention my adorable goddaughter,” one friend wrote.
“She is only lucky princess to have you two as her parents … I love you both.”
What others say about them
Neighbours and family members have shared their thoughts on the young couple with one woman at a Mansfield Park property, where Mr Aydin lived about a year ago, describing the alleged murderer as “nice”.
She said Ms Davila was “polite”.
The woman, who did not want to be named, said she was not aware the couple had been charged with murder.
“No way would I ever think that,” she said.
Ms Davila’s brother told The Advertiser he had not spoken with his sister in at least six years.
He said he was only aware of allegations his sister murdered Dr Yung after seeing media reports.
Jacinta’s mother hit with barrage of online abuse
Social media users have taken to Facebook to attack the mother of the woman accused of murdering prominent South Australian pediatrician Michael Yung.
Jacinta Davila, 27, and her co-accused Kreme Aydin, 22, have been charged with one count each of murder, serious criminal trespass and committing theft using force.
Since news broke of their charges, the mother of the murder-accused May Davila has had a barrage of abusive comments on several of her posts.

Dramatic security camera footage has captured the moment police tackled a man suspected of murdering an Adelaide doctor, before chasing down his fleeing partner.
