Blaze ravages home at Burton in Adelaide’s northern suburbs, destroying Corvette
A home has been engulfed in flames in Adelaide’s northern suburbs overnight, with the intense blaze destroying a Corvette sports car.

A house has gone up in flames in Adelaide’s north overnight, with the huge fire destroying a sports car in the driveway.
Fire crews responded to the blaze at Canterbury Place, Burton, at just after 1am on Thursday to reports of a structure fire.
MFS and CFS firefighters arrived to find the home engulfed in flames with the roof partially collapsed. Witnesses told Channel 7’s Sunrise the house erupted in a “massive fireball”.
An MFS spokesperson said the firefighters used defensive tactics to gain access and control the blaze over the course of an hour.
It is understood a man was able to escape the property before the fire took hold and a Corvette sports car, parked in the driveway, was destroyed in the blaze.
Fire investigators are at the scene on Thursday morning to determine the cause.
Earlier this week, a classic car went up in flames after a shed fire at a residential property on Main Rd, next door to the Belair Hotel.
The fire, which racked up a $200,000 damage bill, caused parts of Blackwood, Belair and Glenalta to be covered by smoke.
