Alastair Oliver and Emma de Broughe are Seacliff through and through.

And the pair is helping the club become a formidable force during the 2021 men’s and women’s top tier hockey competitions.

Oliver is hoping to grab a back-to-back flag after leading the team to a grand final victory over Adelaide last year.
De Broughe, meanwhile, wants redemption following a preliminary final loss in 2020 to eventual premier Port Adelaide.
The Advertiser subscribers can watch Seacliff’s men’s and women’s side battle Grange in an exclusive live stream of the matches this Sunday from 12.15pm.
Both sides sit second on their respective ladders with two wins and a draw, behind first-place Port Adelaide.
De Broughe was pleased with how her team was performing so far this season and expected a good game against Grange.
She said the recruitment of former Port midfielder Leah Welstead, who won MVP in last year’s grand final, was a huge boost this season.
“I’ve been with Seacliff my whole hockey career and we have been on top of Grange for the past few years,” de Broughe said.
“Hopefully if we just play a good, team game and get some early goals on the board and put them under pressure.
“I think our team has come together really well and we are working together as a unit so I
think we are going to have a really positive year.
“We’ve picked up a really handy player in Leah Welstead and our midfield is really solid now, so that’s really helped us to push forward this year.
“It was pretty exciting to get Leah, it just adds another really solid player to our team and
having that one more really standout player will help us go really well this year.

The broadcast of this week’s games forms part of The Advertiser and Messenger’s partnership with Hockey SA to live stream matches this season in the coming weeks.
It follows the live stream of the round one double-header between Forestville and Port Adelaide, round two Grange v Adelaide games and the round three women’s clash between Burnside and North East.
The 2020 men’s and women’s Premier League grand finals, won by Seacliff and Port Adelaide respectively, were also live streamed on advertiser.com.au
Oliver was keen to have his game broadcast and hoped rising stars would tune in and be inspired by watching the state’s best battle against each other.
“It’s good to show the wider community some good, fast paced hockey that we are known for against a good opposition as well,” the midfielder said.
“It means a whole lot because without the exposure, smaller sports can’t really expand.
“I started at Seacliff as well with Emma. I don’t think I’d ever change clubs.
“They are a bunch of great blokes there and a great wider community as well with good camaraderie.”
The men’s side enjoyed a 3-0 victory over Burnside in round one, drew 2-2 with Adelaide before thrashing Adelaide University 6-1 before the Easter break.
Oliver was confident the team would notch its third win and keep pushing to steal top spot from the Magpies.
