School Sport SA Sapsasa state netball carnivals live streamed from 10.30am Monday

Regional and city pride will be on the line when hundreds of netballers flood the courts for the School Sport SA Sapsasa state netball carnivals.

With 40 teams representing districts ranging from the western suburbs to Whyalla, the competition at Netball SA Stadium is sure to be fierce.
And for the first time, the Year 6 and Year 7 country and metro carnivals will be live streamed exclusively by The Advertiser and The Messenger from 10.30am on Monday.
It will run alongside the Sapsasa country football tournament and ahead of next month’s metro football carnival.
In total, 196 games will be available to watch on advertiser.com.au with matches broadcast simultaneously from two ovals or courts on each of the 15 days of competition (see fixtures below).
The country Year 6 and metro Year 7 netball matches will be played from Monday-Wednesday, followed by the country Year 7 and metro Year 6 competitions from Wednesday-Friday.
John Hartley School student Nazaria Coleman will be playing at her second Sapsasa carnival.
The Playford goal shooter hoped her experience would help her team.
“I like playing against other schools and seeing what they’re like,” Nazaria, 13, said.
“Some of my friends and family are in other teams, so it will be cool to play against them.”
Hewett Primary’s Marley Koen, 11, was excited to represent Gawler under the bright lights of SA’s premier netball venue.
“Playing on the court where the Thunderbirds play and playing lots of different regions will be fun,” the Gawler Central Netball Club goal attack said.
Carnival co-ordinator Marni Nicholls said holding the large-scale tournament was a win in itself, after many young netballers were unable to play at representative competitions last year due to Covid.
Teams from 20 regional districts will compete, along with 20 sides from metro areas.
The netball live streams begin at 10.30am on Monday, followed by the country football from 10.50am.
