SANFL Development Leagues live stream replays: West Adelaide plays North Adelaide in U13, U14 boys

West hosted North in the SANFL Development Leagues U13 and U14 boys on Friday – and it was a good night for the hosts in a big win. Watch the exclusive live stream replays here.

Young guns from West Adelaide and North Adelaide wrapped up their SANFL Development Leagues seasons in their final matches on Friday night.

The under-13 and udner-14 matches between the Bloods and Roosters were exclusively live streamed by KommunityTV from Richmond.

In the opening match of the night, a strong West under-13 side ended its season on a high with a convincing victory over North.

The Roosters kept themselves in the contest early but the sheer weight for forward-50 entries from the Bloods saw them break the match open in the second term to set up a comfortable win.

In the under-14 clash, North outworked West as the game progressed to defeat the home team in a hard-fought contest.

There isn’t much Brenton Phillips hasn’t done in South Australian football.

But the highly-credentialed coach, former SANFL star and SA Football Hall of Fame member is continuing to give back and guide the next generation.

Phillips now combines his role as SANFL talent manger with coaching the under-13 boys team at North Adelaide – the club where he first made his mark.

His Roosters side will be in live streamed action against West Adelaide on Friday night.

KommunityTV will broadcast the under-13 and under-14 boys SANFL Development Leagues matches at Richmond from 5.30pm.

Phillips – the 1993 Magarey Medallist who also played 71 VFL/AFL games for Brisbane and Essendon – said he jumped at the role after stepping down after 12 years as SA’s state under-18 coach in 2018.

“It became available, I looked at it and thought ‘it’s probably time to give back’,” Phillips said.

“Under-13s – they’re very much in the development stage of their football and they’re young and have a lot to learn.

“It’s fun, exciting and great to see these young players come through. Probably the interesting part is watching some of the players in the under-13 squad some three years back now playing for North’s under-16s, which are going well.”

Phillips said fundamental skills and doing the basics well were the main focuses of coaching the development sides.

His Roosters team will conclude its season against West Adelaide on Friday night.

The SANFL Development Leagues, which feature under-13, 14 and 15 boys as well as under-14 and 16 girls competitions, are the first stepping stones in the pathway to senior state league football.

In 2022, The Advertiser has streamed weekly matches from the competition for the first time.

The under-13 game will get underway from 5.30pm at Richmond, followed by the under-14 clash at 6.50pm.
